On January 26, 2005, the world welcomed a beautiful baby girl that was ready to take on the world.
Reagan has always been super sweet and want to help everybody. She wanted to play soccer at a younger age. So like any good parent - we signed her up for soccer. First game of the season, the cute little 5 year old's were in a circle with the other team and Reagan was so excited that the little girl next to her (from the other team) had the same shoes on she did. During the course of the 2 years in soccer, Reagan would help up all the girls that fell. That's when we knew - soccer might not be Reagan's sport (but she was so cute in her uniform).
As Reagan began school, we realized quickly how bright she was. We knew she was going to be a teacher pleaser (because that was just her personality) but we quickly began to see that there was more. In kindergarten she decided she wanted to be like brother and do DI (Destination Imagination - creative problem solving group), we played soccer, did dance and gymnastics. As the school years continued, practices became more intense for the various extra curricular activities and we told Reagan she needed to start thinking about what activity she loved. As a parent, you hate to make your child choose, but at some point we told her she needed some down time to "just be a kid". She decided at that point that she wanted to do more gymnastics and less of the other "stuff". She is currently still competing in gymnastics as a level 8 Tumbling and Trampoline gymnast.
Reagan has always had an adventurous side. She is wanting to work with large animals some day. She is leaning towards aquatic (sharks) but then she also loves all things furry. Who knows - maybe when we go to Animal Kingdom at Disney World - she will be one of the vets onsite taking care of the animals on safari or in Epcot taking care of the Sharks (fish are our friends, not food).
Traveling with family is absolutely one of her favorite things. We love to go and see the world.
She has always wanted to go to Paris. So dad made that happen. We were able to spend Christmas in Paris. I have to say - it was magical!
For graduation, brother wanted to go to Ireland and visit his Irish roots. Again - Dad made that happen.
Needless to say - Reagan loves an adventure. I know as she continues to travel through life, she will always find the fun side of life. As she turns sweet 16 this week, I am saddened a bit that my baby girl is growing up but so thrilled to watch her grab life by the horns and go after whatever she wants. I know that wherever life takes her, she will always be the sweet, intelligent young lady she is today. I am excited to see where life takes her!
